Hi, welcome to my first post where I will write about Japon. An little and beautiful country I would like to visit some day. When I was a child I know about this country for one movie, Akira, an amazing post-apocaliptic anime movie realese in 1988 and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo. The history, design and art of this movie motivated me to investigate, I wanted to know more about the author, if there were more similar movies and where were they made. That's how I discovered the art of Japanese animation, manga and anime. I started reading works by different mangakas and watching animations from different studios, my favorite was Studio Ghibli, I loved movies like "My Neighbor Totoro", "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited Away" and others. I hope that some day I can have the opportunity to go Japan, because I like their art and culture and I would like to understand it better. In addition to studying forestry engineering, I also study vegan pastry, it’s one of my passions and I am very good at preparing different types of desserts such as Muffins, Cookies, Truffles, Lemon Pies and other types of cakes. Through vegan pastries, a delicious and healthy type of cuisine is shown, based on plants, without ingredients of animal origin, without contributing to their suffering, in addition, vegan cuisine helps mitigate the effects of climate change, helping to mitigate CO2 emissions. The person I admire in this area is Valentina Olavarrieta, she has 26 years old, it’s from Santiago de Chile and is a vegan pastry chef. Thanks to her, I learned different recipes and technique, she is always willing to teach with one smile. She has taken different types of courses, making this type of cuisine more widely known. I participated in one of these courses and learned how to make different types of cakes.

I study forestry engineer, this major is related directly with the nature, there are millions of hectares of forest in the world distributed in plantations and native forest, and one of the goals is search a balance between the benefits economic, social and ambiental of the forest. If an ecosystem is negatively affected, a forestry engineer has the tools and knowledge to minimize the damage or restore the ecosystem. Personally, I would like to work in one big and important forestry company like Arauco or Mininco in the area of restoration of native forest, to make know the other part of this company’s, they have areas dedicated to restoration and are more concerned about the industry's impact on nature. Also, the knowledge of the forestry engineer can be applied in cities, improving the quality of their green areas, if I lived in a big city like Santiago, I would like work in urban trees.

In this image are a lot of work and represent my dedication to the kitchen. I am a vegan for 4 years, in the beginning of this change of life the most difficult was adapted to this new alimentation, I always used to eat meet and food prevenient of animals, and one day to other I said: “No more”, my conviction was strong. When I was a child saw to my grandmothers in the kitchen, they preparate delicious food, the aromas and flavours call my attention. When I started living alone must cook and learn different recipes, and when I was a vegan must learn a lot more, I missed the desserts, I could not eat one of my favourites, “The Lemon Pie”, because the most people use cow milk to do it, and the place that sell vegan food are more expensive, so I decided to prepare my own desserts. Blog 3 My favourite piece of technology My favourite piece of technology is my smartphone. I got it three years ago when change my old smartphone, I needed one faster, with more memory and lightweight. I use it for many things; to organize my time with the alarms, calendar and notes; to have fun listening to music, watching videos, playing some games and talking with my friends; to study searching information in the web and watching the online classes, and to find some dress with the GPS technology. I use it frequently in my day, since I get up, when listening music in the shower, when take the bus for the university, in the university, in the work, when I go out with my friends and before I get sleep. I like because organize better my time with my smartphone, I have more productive days with him. My life without would be more difficult, because I need this technology for do many things in my day.

When I was a child, I used to dream of being a marine. I always like the ocean, but never learn to swim. After finishing my secondary education, I didn’t know what career to choose. I liked architecture and forest engineer, I chose the last one because in the summer, before entering university, I worked as a forest brigade in CONAF and understand the important of protect the nature, that work was very important to me and help me to choose the career. My experience in the university has been great. My mind was open to a new world and I have more contact with the nature. I travel and know other parts of the country. I was to national parks and learned about the nature of the places. I would like to have a job in any work were I can apply what I learn in all this years of study.
